What is the International Pause Institute?

The International Pause Institute is a premier integrative wellness center specializing in holistic, evidence-based care for individuals in their 40s and beyond. We offer personalized programs for hormone optimization (Pause), sexual wellness (Play), body transformation (Fast Forward), and advanced aesthetics (Rewind).

Are your programs in-person or virtual?

We offer a hybrid model. While some services require in-person visits (like aesthetics or shockwave therapy), many of our consultations, follow-ups, and coaching sessions are available virtually. We work with clients currently who are located or are willing to travel to Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Texas at the time of their virtual visit. In person services are only offered in New Jersey at this time.

Where are you located?

We’re proud to serve the New Jersey community while offering licensed telehealth services in DE, NJ, NY, PA, and TX. Specific program locations are shared upon enrollment, tailored to the type of treatment you need. Plus, exciting news—new satellite locations are on the way to expand our reach and support even more individuals!

Do you take insurance?

Unfortunately, no. Our services are designed as premium, cash-based offerings to provide you with extended time, personalized care, advanced testing, and therapies that go beyond what typical insurance covers. To make things easier, we do offer flexible payment plans!

That said, certain standard lab tests, radiology studies, or prescriptions (billed by third parties) might be covered by your insurance—this depends on your specific plan and approved providers. We recommend checking directly with your insurance company to get the details.

Can I use my HSA or FSA for your programs?

In many cases, yes. While the International Pause Institute does not bill insurance directly, you may be able to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for eligible services, including diagnostic testing, physician consultations, and medically necessary treatments. We recommend contacting your HSA/FSA provider for confirmation and saving all itemized receipts we provide.

Are your programs tax-deductible medical expenses?

Potentially. If your care qualifies as a medically necessary expense—as determined by IRS guidelines—you may be able to deduct program costs, labs, and prescribed treatments as part of your medical expenses on your tax return. Keep in mind that IRS rules change, and deductions are subject to certain thresholds.

Do you provide the documentation I need for reimbursement or tax filing?

Yes. Upon request, we provide itemized invoices, diagnostic and treatment codes, and proof of payment for your records. These can be submitted to your HSA/FSA administrator or used when preparing your taxes. Please request these in writing to [email protected] and allow for a minimum of 7 business days for completion depending on extent of reords requested.

Can I use insurance for lab tests or prescriptions ordered through your program?

In some cases, yes. Certain labs or prescriptions may be covered by your insurance if ordered through participating providers. However, many of our advanced diagnostic tests and customized treatments are not typically reimbursed, which is why we operate on a direct-pay, concierge model.

How do I apply to work with the International Pause Institute?

Why is there an application process?

Our programs are highly personalized and intentionally limited to ensure every client receives the time, attention, and concierge-level care they deserve. The application process allows us to make sure we can truly help you—and that you’re ready for the level of commitment our transformative programs require.

What happens after I apply?

Once your application is received, our team will review it carefully. If your goals align with our expertise, you’ll be invited to schedule a private Discovery Call to discuss your needs, answer questions, and explore next steps.

What if I'm not accepted into a program?

Nonacceptance doesn’t always mean a hard “no.” Sometimes, it’s simply a “not right now.” Our programs can fill up, or the timing, complexity of care, or motivation might not align perfectly with what we offer. If we feel a different type of care would better support your goals, we’ll let you know with honesty and compassion—you’ll never be left in the dark. Plus, in many cases, we can provide referrals to trusted providers or alternative next steps that are tailored to your needs. We’re here to help you find the right path forward!

Can I reapply in the future?

Absolutely. Life changes, and so do your goals. If you're not accepted at this time, you're welcome to reapply when your circumstances or readiness align more closely with our program offerings.

What if I’m unsure which program is right for me?

That’s okay! Simply complete an application, and during your Discovery Call, we’ll help guide you toward the most appropriate path—whether that’s Pause, Play, Fast Forward, Rewind, or a custom combination.

PAUSE PROTOCOL (Hormone Optimization)

Who is the Pause Program for?

This program is ideal for high-functioning men and women ages 40–70+ experiencing hormonal changes like fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, low libido, or mood instability. It’s especially powerful for those navigating perimenopause, menopause, and andropause.

What kind of hormone testing do you use?

We use advanced functional hormone testing, including DUTCH testing, serum labs, and, when appropriate, salivary hormone panels for a comprehensive view of your hormonal health.

Do you prescribe bioidentical hormones?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, we offer bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) tailored to your needs, along with natural and lifestyle-based approaches. Your prescriptions will vary based on the program you choose. Our DIY and group programs focus on self-guided support, so they don’t include prescription management. But if you opt for our concierge programs, personalized prescription management is part of the package!

PLAY PROTOCOL (Sexual Wellness)

What is the PLAY Protocol?

The PLAY Program is designed to restore intimacy, desire, and sexual confidence. It includes therapies like shockwave treatment for erectile function, vaginal rejuvenation, hormone balancing, and mind-body coaching for reconnection and confidence.

Can I do the PLAY Program without being in the Pause Program?

Absolutely! Whether combined with hormone optimization of the Pause Protocol or used on its own, PLAY offers a tailored approach to elevate your sexual wellness. During your consultation, you’ll work closely with a practitioner to discuss your goals and explore available therapies. Together, you’ll create a personalized plan designed just for you.

FAST FORWARD PROGRAM (Weight & Body Optimization)

How is this different from other weight loss programs?

We don’t just focus on the number on the scale. Our Fast Forward Program preserves lean muscle, enhances metabolism, and supports long-term vitality. We use functional testing, nutrition plans, supplement support, and optional medical enhancements to help you transform safely and sustainably.

Do you use weight loss medications?

When appropriate, we offer medically guided support, but our emphasis is on maintaining form and function—so you don’t sacrifice energy, strength, or hormone balance in pursuit of results.

REWIND PROGRAM (Aesthetics & Regenerative Therapies)

What aesthetic treatments do you offer?

Our Rewind Aesthetics Program includes Botox, fillers, microneedling, radiofrequency, thread lifts, biostimulants, laser treatments, hair restoration, body contouring, and our signature Fire & Ice facial. We also offer non-invasive treatments for dry eye and skin rejuvenation. Our menu is always evolving as technology and science advance! Are your providers experienced?

Yes. Our aesthetic providers are not only highly trained—they also teach and train other clinicians. We focus on expert-level care that enhances your natural beauty with safety and precision.
